TRUMAN, MN-- The Truman/Granada-Huntley-East Chain football team enters the upcoming season with its sights set on turning the program around.

KEYC News 12 Sports Rob Clark has more from the Jags.

The Jaguars come into the 2018 campaign sporting a team full of youth, with only a couple of seniors.

Despite not having a deep bench, this year's squad is hoping to set the program record for wins in a season.

"Our guys take that very well, where they know that somebody isn't pushing me for my job, but if I don't push myself, we're going to be right back to the bottom barrel of 9–man. They want to leave that, and that's big for us," said Ben Senf, Jaguars head coach.

"As a program, we've never won more than two games in a year, we're here to change that, we want to turn this program around in the long run. It's good to see that we have so many younger kids, at the same time we wish we had more seniors and juniors, but it is what it is, and we'll get through it," said Clay Gieseke, Jaguars WR/CB.

"I think we have more playmakers now than ever. I think just working ways to soften defense up and get the balls in our playmakers hands. I think our guys realize some will play all night, and they're excited, and that's the biggest thing is how excited they are," said Senf.

The Jaguars kick–off their season in Madelia Friday, August 24th. Be sure to tune in to KEYC News 12 next week for more area football coverage as teams gear up for the upcoming year.
