Senator Amy Klobuchar met with Blue Earth County Attorney Pat McDermott along with several judges and community leaders.

The group discussed the county's 'Drug Court' program, rehabilitation, opioids, and even medicinal marijuana.

A lot of time was spent talking about the rise of methamphetamines here locally and how they are handling this new drug crisis.
Senator Amy Klobuchar said: "The issue here is figuring out the best treatments for meth but also, of course, trying to do everything we can to stop it from coming in, because it's no longer just meth labs in the middle of rural areas."
Meth has seen a resurgence because massive amounts of the drug are being made in Mexico and flooding the US, making it a cheaper alternative to opioids.
