MANKATO, MN - The Salvation Army building in Mankato is getting some much needed repairs.

The organization will remodel its showers and public restrooms.  Funds for the project came from several private donors.  Some of those donors have had help from the Salvation Army in the past and wanted to give back.

Maj. Jonathan Fjellman of the Salvation Army, said: "We don't usually seek donations for remodeling our building.  Our building is quite old and it needs a lot of help.  We do need help with that but not many people want to give towards a building project."

During construction, the shower facilities and the laundry room will not be available.
The remodeling is expected to be finished by August 24th.
