Jackson Man Accused of Strangling Mother to Death Makes First Appearance in Court
A Jackson man charged with three counts of second degree murder made his first appearance in court today.
Authorities say 51–year–old Rebecca Garber Thompson died on July 4th in Sioux Falls due to strangulation.
Nicholas Thompson, the victim's son, is now charged with three counts of second degree murder made his initial court appearance Wednesday.
The criminal complaint says the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to what was originally reported as a medical call on July 1st.
Court documents say Rebecca Thompson was found unconscious and taken to the Sanford Jackson Medical Center.
She was later transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls where she died three days later.
Thompson's omnibus hearing is set for October 3rd at 10 A.M.
