A special archery deer hunt opens tomorrow in the East Minnesota River Refuge.
That refuge is located in Blue Earth and Le Sueur Counties along the east bank of the Minnesota River.
The DNR says deer hunters are allowed a limit of one buck and one antlerless deer or two antlerless deer.
Officials say this hunt is unique because the entire hunting zone is on private land. That means hunters need to request landowner permission before they head out.
Hunter registration or application is required prior to hunting.
The DNR says the purpose of the hunt is to assist in the tracking of the deer harvest and deer population in the refuge.
The special hunt is open until Dec. 31
