MANKATO, MN - A new rental community in Mankato hopes to provide affordable places to live in this tight housing market.

Dublin Crossing had its grand opening today.  The apartment complex has 50 units total with two laundry rooms per floor and a community room with a kitchen.  One, two, or three bedroom apartment floor plans are available.  Seven units are set aside for HUD Section 8 housing, while five units are for residents with disabilities.

Deidre Schmidt, CEO of CommonBond Communities said, "Folks who are looking for an apartment for the first time, anyone who might otherwise be screened out of the market by more traditional landlords, CommonBond will provide housing for those folks."

The complex was funded in part by the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.  Local businesses also contributed $12,000 to the project.
