Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan Make Post-Inauguration Stop in Mankato
Mankato, Minn.-- Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan held their One Minnesota Inauguaral Celebration tonight in town at the Kato Ballroom.
Governor Walz recently created the One Minnesota Council, which aims to work to address geographic diversity as well as equity in the state.
Both Walz and his running mate hold up Mankato as an example of how diversity can strengthen Minnesota.
"Mankato is just a model for how people can work together across communities." said Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, "It's diverse, it's robust and can be a model for the rest of the state."
"One Minnesota doesn't mean we're all the same." said Governor Tim Walz, "It means we work across lines of differences. We find our common Minnesota values and we find ways to move things forward."
The governor heard different perspectives from people in a community he calls welcoming.
