MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - On select Sundays, the Mankato Makerspace hosts the Mankato Maker Market, a showcase of locally made products.
Vendors from the region showcased their handmade crafts, whether it be fine art, jewelry, home décor or produce. The volunteer-ran non-profit hosts the market every other month as their way of supporting the local artistic community.
“The fact is people still have to find an outlet, they have to find people they can have that connection with and get new ideas and get some assistance or to help other people they mentor. We actually have the facilities that we have connections to people want to start their own business we can help them with that and we can have places they can go and get free marketing advice or free financial support advice, whatever they need,” one of the founding members of Makerspace, Cindy Bourne said.
Makerspace is always looking to get more vendors involved, the shop hosts an open house every Tuesday afternoon.
