MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended a deadline for farmer’s to report their crop acreage due to this year’s excess rain. The new deadline is July 22 for ag-producers to file their crop acreage reports. These reports document every crop and its intended use throughout each acre a farmer uses.
The USDA says there are two exceptions to the deadline: If the crop has not been planted, reports must be filed within 15 calendar days after planting. And any additional acreage acquired after filing must be reported no later than 30 calendar days.
