ST. PETER, Minn. (KEYC) - Makers of all mediums showcased their work today at Nicollet County Fairgrounds.
The Maker Fair allows a gateway for local artists to expand their businesses.
In eight years of the fair, it's grown 30 vendors to more than 200.
“There’s a wide variety of vendors here, some brand new crafters. We have a little gal selling her dollar bracelets, just getting started in her events, she’s very creative, so we wanted to give her a chance to get her business up and going. We’ve got people that have store fronts that just are trying to generate their business a little bit more, getting the word of mouth out there. I’ve seen people go onto open their Etsy shops, Facebook, Instagram going on, they’ve got their own websites up now. So, it definitely helps them grow their business,” Makers Fair organizer Karen Dirkx said.
Event organizers say more than one thousand people applied for a chance to be a vendor at the fair.
