MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The public is invited to attend a third-party audit of Manakto’s National Biosolids Partnership (NBP) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Water Resource Recovery Facility.

The NBP is an elective program that promotes the beneficial reuse and best management practices of biosolids produced in the wastewater process.

Mankato was designated the first city in Minnesota, and 28th in the nation, to receive a national biosolids partnership certification. This means that the city works with area farmers who use biosolids as fertilizer to improve and maintain productive soils and stimulate plant growth.

An interim schedule is outlined in the document below.

If interested in attending, please contact General Superintendent Jim Bruender at (507) 387-8666.

The Water Resource Recovery Facility is located at 701 Pine Street in Mankato.
