Mankato man arrested after reportedly assaulting police officer

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — A Mankato man is in custody after reportedly assaulting a North Mankato Police officer Wednesday.

Authorities say they responded to Lindsay Windows at approximately 3:42 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call regarding an aggressive employee.

During the course of the investigation, an officer was reportedly assaulted by 48-year-old Jason Phillip Presler of Mankato.

The officer was able to drive himself to the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, where he was treated for minor injuries and later released.

Presler was transported to the same facility by the Mayo Ambulance Service, where he was treated for minor injuries. He was later transported to the Nicollet County Jail in St. Peter, where he remains in custody.

A news release from the North Mankato Police Department says the case has been forwarded to the Nicollet County Attorney’s Office for a review for criminal charges of fourth-degree assault of a peace officer, first-degree drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and disorderly conduct.

The North Mankato Police Department was assisted by the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Mankato Department of Public Safety, Minnesota State Patrol, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance Service.
