Minnesota State-Northern Michigan series canceled

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced Friday that the nonconference series between the Minnesota State Mavericks and Northern Michigan men’s hockey teams has been canceled.

The decision was made after the WCHA learned about recent positive COVID-19 tests within the Northern Michigan hockey program.

The Mavericks were originally scheduled to host Northern Michigan in Mankato on Dec. 11 and 12.

No further information about the series has been made available at this time.

Minnesota State is scheduled to return to the ice for the first time since Nov. 22 on Sunday when they travel to Michigan Tech for a two-game series.
