HENDERSON, Minn. (KEYC) — If you’re looking for things to do outdoors with the family, Ney Nature Center is hosting a variety of winter activities.

The center hosts guided snowshoe hikes, cross country skiing as well as various youth outdoor education and exploration activities. In addition, the center is ramping up for their Snow Fest and Candlelight event coming February 6th. Families are invited for a day of outdoor activities, capped with an evening hike that’s lit up by candles around the prairie.

“In the winter sometimes it’s harder to get outside. And maybe it’s harder to go for a hike in the winter if you don’t have snowshoes. So that’s why it’s really great to come out to our events or just rent equipment,” Ney Nature Center Programs and Marketing Coordinator Emily Dufford explained.

Snowshoes and cross country skis can be rented at the center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. Equipment sizing will fit most users ages 7 and older.

Visit the Ney Nature Center’s website for more information and upcoming events.
