MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The city of Mankato is giving owners of natural holiday trees an opportunity to recycle them.
The city has four designated locations around town where old trees can be dropped off. Franklin Rogers, Highland, Sibley and Tourtellotte Park have specified areas to place the trees.
Mankato’s garbage and recycling service will process the trees into mulch. The service is free, and the trees are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:00 as long as the tree is clear of wires, metal and plastic, such as ornaments and tree stands.
