MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - With many community centers and school gymnasiums inaccessible after hours during the pandemic, a new indoor space in Mankato looks to provide a solution for athletes.
Located on Power Drive, 24-7 Ball Sports offers 24/7 access to train or blow off steam in a batting cage, pitching lane, or turf area in a socially distanced environment. The facility opened up for the first time last week and is made possible through community supporters and club memberships. It was created by two local dads who saw a need within their own families.
“We normally would send our kids into the MSU domes and go into public spaces like gymnasiums, of course, the local baseball softball type places but we didn’t know if they would be available so we thought we had to do something and we reached out to some local businesses and supporters and they got behind us and they said we think having space is a good idea,” says Matt Mangulis, Co-Creator.
The business’s main goal is to keep it affordable, and eventually expand with instructors and the latest technology to have a long term facility. For more information on 24-7 Ball Sports
