MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Those seeking a fun way to enjoy Minnesota outdoors have been keeping local recreation businesses busy during the pandemic.
Mankato Motorsports says it has seen a big increase in foot traffic and sales since last April. From a rise in watercraft sales in the summer to now, where snowmobiles, ATV’s and side by sides are drawing in more customers. The company says even the little snow left on the ground right now isn’t discouraging Minnesotans.
“Customers getting the itch a little early thinking about winter and what the heck they’re going to do outside, definitely a lot of interest in snowmobiles this year and it started a lot earlier than usual. I would say in the July timeframe a lot of people were looking for snowmobiles,” says Cale Pearson, Sales Manager, Mankato Motorsports.
Pearson says Mankato Motorsports is starting to see more inventory come in after the pandemic caused a shortage in products from Arctic Cat, Polaris and BRP last fall.
