Health tools headed to Indigenous communities

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KEYC) - Blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and technology for telehealth visits are on their way to elders from Indigenous communities in Minnesota.

The more than $500,000 in equipment is paid for through the Coronavirus Relief Fund. Data shows American Indians have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. They have the highest percentages of hospitalized, admitted to the ICU, and deaths compared to other racial and ethnic communities.
