Public’s input encouraged on Highway 169 corridor study

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation are asking for public input on changes wanted for the Highway 169 corridor.

The public is invited to an online open house Thursday. There, input can be shared and discussed on safety, traffic flow issues, condition, walking/biking barriers and more.

“The purpose of the 169 corridor study is to develop a context-sensitive shared vision for how we here locally and regionally want the corridor to develop as our region continues to grow and develop,” said MAPO Transportation Planner Charles Androsky.

Input can also be made online via a survey and on an interactive map. The map allows you to select areas of the Highway 169 corridor and give input.

The online meeting will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The virtual open house can be accessed any time between Thursday and Jan. 28. To register for the online meeting and visit the virtual open house website, check out the project website at

A date to actually implement any changes has not been set, but has been estimated for 2027.
