NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The Taylor Corporation has developed a new testing system for discovering early symptoms of COVID-19.
The new development is called the “scent check” — it is used to discover if someone in the workplace might have lost their sense of smell, which is an early indicator of COVID.
The Taylor Corporation website says over 140,000 of these tests have already been produced.
The company hosted a webinar via Zoom Tuesday afternoon to discuss this innovation.
“That’s really where this came from is how important that can be and when we fast-forward a few months more and more academic, professional research comes out about loss of smell,” said Stephanie Drago, marketing director at Navitor.
The Taylor Corporation noted that the smell test is not a replacement for a COVID test, but that it is simply an early indicator for symptoms for the loss of smell.
