Bill inspired by Arik Matson introduced to Minnesota Legislature

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KEYC) - A bill in honor of Waseca Police Officer Arik Matson is introduced today in the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives.

The bill would require a person convicted of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, judge, prosecutor, or correctional officer to serve a minimum prison sentence of 30 years. Officer Arik Matson, his wife Megan and Waseca County Attorney Rachel Cornelius were at the capitol to present the bill to lawmakers this morning.
