Walnut Grove woman injured in crash; authorities still investigating

WALNUT GROVE, Minn. (KEYC) — Authorities report they are investigating a crash that injured a Walnut Grove woman Wednesday.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and Walnut Grove Police Department report that Helen Tate, of Walnut Grove, was injured in a crash involving Benjamin Johnson, also of Walnut Grove, shortly after 10:40 a.m.

Johnson was reportedly traveling southbound on Crown Avenue in a Ford Fusion when his vehicle was struck by Tate, who was driving westbound on 160th Street in a Chevy Impala.

The extent of Tate’s injuries is currently unclear, but authorities did say that an ambulance was called to treat her injuries.

It is also unclear if Johnson was injured, but authorities say he was not transported to a hospital and did not receive treatment from ambulance personnel.
