Minnesota State sweeps doubleheader, improves to 8-1 on season

HIGHLIGHTS: Minnesota State vs. Minnesota Duluth (Game 1)

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The Minnesota State Mankato baseball team hosted a doubleheader against Minnesota Duluth Thursday afternoon.

MSU won game one by a final of 10-0. Collin Denk pitched six scoreless innings and struck out eight hitters. Denk is now 2-0 on the year.

Ben Livorsi went 2-3 with a two-run home run for the Mavericks in game one. Joey Werner also clubbed a home run in the contest, he drove in four.

The Mavericks would take the second game of the doubleheader as well, winning by a score of 11-8.

MSU moves to 8-1 on the season after picking up two victories Thursday..

The Mavericks will host a doubleheader against the University of Mary on Saturday.
