MRCI Thrift Shop closing its doors in Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) — The MRCI Thrift Shop in Mankato is closing its doors on April 30.

MRCI leadership cites a hiring shortage and says the Thrift Shop staff of five will be asked to stay on through the store’s closure to ensure the generous donations are sold and given to other community organizations.

The organization says closing the shop, which has been in Mankato for more than 50 years, was a difficult decision, but allows them to focus even more on their mission of serving people with disabilities and disadvantages.

The MRCI Thrift Shop in New Ulm will remain open.
