Demolition begins on New Ulm elevator, plans to rebuild

NEW ULM, Minn. (KEYC) - Demolition is underway at the Farmer’s Cooperative of Hanska in New Ulm.

The grain elevator was damaged by an explosion around 6:30 on the evening of June 1.

One person was injured by the blast.

Demolition got underway at the site on Wednesday.

Farmer’s Cooperative says once demolition is complete, they will rebuild on the site. They hope to have the new facility up and running this fall, just in time for harvest.
