NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - Absentee voting begins today for residents in parts of North Mankato to elect a new county commissioner.

Voters in North Mankato precincts one, two and three will choose between current North Mankato Mayor Mark Dehen and David Haack, who is a long-time city of North Mankato employee and former Nicollet County board member.

The election was called after County Commissioner Denny Kemp passed away last September.

The special election is on April 12.

Absentee ballots can be requested through the Nicollet County website.
