SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Iowa Republican Sen.Joni Ernst was in Sioux City Friday to visit the Bomgaars warehouse.

The senator’s tour of the facility included a briefing about its operations.

It was her first time touring the company. During a news conference, Sen. Ernst said, a few weeks ago, she spoke with Vice President Kamala Harris about President Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee.

Ernst said she plans to meet with that nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

“Most of the time, as we’ve seen with a number of our Supreme Court nominees, is I will ask her, you know, what type of a judge she has been, what type of leadership that she will show in those areas? Will she be a textualist? Will she uphold the Constitution as it is written?” said Ernst.

Ernst also said she told the vice president she’s looking for a nominee without a history of political activism.
