Dealing with grief
MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - The loss of Queen Elizabeth II has been in the headlines since she died nearly two weeks ago, even having never met her, her impact still has many people grieving her death. Often older adults experience grief at a higher rate than younger adults or children. Spousal loss is common in older adults as well as the death of friends, siblings and cousins.
But it also affects children. For kids it’s often a memorable experience, commonly marked by the death of a grandparent or older relative. So how as adults how do we deal with that grief and for those with kids, how do we help them through a significant loss?
Andrew Archer with Minnesota Mental Health Services offers some advice on dealing with grief.
