One Bright Star is excited to host a “Celebration of Life Gala” fundraising event on Saturday February 16th, 2019 at the Verizon Center in Mankato, MN. This is a black-tie optional event featuring a social hour, dinner, silent & live auctions, meat raffle, and entertainment provided by Duelly Noted, Dueling Pianos. This special night draws attention to our respective mission, celebrates the lives of children lost and raises funds to allow our organization to continue its mission. 

February 17th

The Butterfield Veterans Memorial Committee is having a Pancake Brunch with silent auction on Sunday February 17th at the Odin Community Hall from 10am - 1pm.  There will be a free will offering with all proceeds going to help build the Veterans Memorial in Butterfield. Nicollet 4-H Club Ham Dinner is on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 10:30am - 1:00 pm at the  Nicollet American Legion
Adults - $7 in advance, $8 at the door, Children ages 5-12 - $4 in advance, $5 at the door. Meal includes Ham, Au gratin Potatoes, Corn, Dinner roll, beverage and dessert

February 18th

Support group for people who suffer from persistent pain. No such group exists for such an immediate need due to the opioid epidemic and the struggles caused by persistent pain. The first Monday of every month at 1pm and the third Monday of every month at 6pm. The group will meet in the New Ulm Medical Center Board Room. For more information visit allinahealth.org/newulm

Kids Charity Circus, February 20th at the Verizon Center Grand Hall, 1 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, MN 56001. Tickets available at Verizon Center Office or call: 1-800-745-3000. The show includes Comedy, Aerial Acts, Magic, Clowns, and Tigthrope. Two shows: 3:30 and 6:00 P.M. Children, ages 4-12 $10; Adults, $15; Age 3 and under are free. VIP seating and sourvenirs $25. The show will feature professional circus performers from around the U.S. including Tino Wallenda on the tightrope from the world-renown "Flying Wallendas." Facepainting, balloons, and souvenirs will be available pre-show and during intermission.

Over 200 students will unite in song as choirs from Mankato East, West, and Loyola High Schools and the Mankato Children's Chorus join musical forces for a collaborative concert benefiting The REACH and the Quentin Shevy family. The concert will be held February 24th at 7:30pm at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 105 N. 5th Street. Free will donation accepted

February 25th

As part of the Philosophy Colloquium Series, Professor Abraham Singer of Loyola University Chicago will deliver his talk "Racial Justice Without Character: Agents, Structures, and the Extended Mind." Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

February 28th

New Ulm's Turner Hall is hosting their 4th annual Rib Feast on Thursday, Feb. 28th. This fundraiser supports the historic preservation of Turner Hall and helps us to maintain the building for all of our community to enjoy. Tickets are $22 and includes Turner's famous ribs. Drive-Thru and take out begins at 3pm and dine-in available 4:30-7pm. This fun evening features live music and drink specials. Tickets available at Turner Hall, The New Ulm Chamber office or by calling 507-354-2022.

March 2nd

Family and friends of the Ben and Kimber Austin family have joined together and started the “Keep the Smoke Rolling” campaign to help the family offset medical and other expenses. A free will donation dinner and silent auction will be held on March 2, 2019 at Johnny M’s Tavern in Delavan, MN. Free Will Donation dinner begins at 2 PM until the food runs out, DJ from 4pm-11 PM, Silent Auction ends at 9 PM. All the proceeds from the dinner and the auction go to the Austin Family to pay for medical and other expenses. March 2nd

On Saturday, March 2nd from 1-3pm the North Mankato Taylor Library will be hosting their annual Edible Book Festival. Pick a book or author to base your entry on and get creative! Any form of food can be submitted and your entry will be judged in 4-5 categories for a chance to win prizes! This event is open to all ages, children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Even if you do not wish to create an entry, you can still come and vote for the People's Choice Award as well as try each creation. Stop by the library to get your entry form and other important information. Then return it back to us by Thursday, February 28th to ensure your participation.

March 3rd

Trinity Lutheran School is hosting our 37th Annual PTL Brunch/Silent Auction on Sunday, March 3rd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Trinity Lutheran Church Discipling Center. Menu includes: French Toast, pancakes, sausage, ham slices from Morgan Meats in New Richland, eggs, rolls, and donuts, coffee, and a variety of juices. As always, this is a free will offering event. We look forward to seeing you there.

March 5th

Fat Tuesday Dinner at Silent Auction takes place on March 5th from 5-7 pm at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Join them for a Mardi Gras- themed evening filled with jambalaya, king's cake and sparkling wine. You also won't want to miss our silent auction. All funds raised support youth trips. 

March 9th

The 4th Annual Service Enterprises, Inc. Euchre Tournament and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the American Legion in Redwood Falls. Sign in will begin at 10:30 and the Silent Auction will take place from 11:00-2:00. Lunch will be served at noon. Participants must pre-register prior to the event. March 10th

Pasta with the Padres a dinner with the Priests from Holy Rosary, St. Joe's, St. John's, Sts Peter and Paul and Newman Center. It is a benefit for the ECHO Food Shelf. There will be a silent auction from 4pm to 6:45pm. The event takes place on Sunday March 10th from 4-7pm at the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church In Mankato.

Come and learn more about South Central Beyond the Yellow Ribbon and how you can help your local veterans, service members and families. The event takes place on Tuesday March 12th at 7pm in the St. Peter Legion Post #37

Waldorf Fire Department annual Pancake Breakfast takes place on Sunday, March 17 2019 from 8:30AM-12:30PM at Waldorf Community Center
Cost: 4 & Under Free 5-12 $4.00 13+. $7.00 Menu: Pancakes, Sausage, Ham, Eggs, Orange Juice, Milk, Coffee. All proceeds go to continued education & equipment maintenance.
