The emergency room upgrades at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont are progressing nicely before the winter months begin.

Groundbreaking took place at the end of July, but as of now they are only a few weeks away from pouring the floors.

The roof is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

Nurse Manager Sandee Vaske says, "It's expanded rooms, the workflow will work much better, there's a designated triage area and the ambulance bay is already able to be viewed."

The $4.5 million project is expected to be completed next summer.
