After an application process,

The Mankato Area United way has received $31,000 in grants from the Mankato Clinic Foundation.

The money will go towards to different initiatives. Project Community Connect, which helps those who are homeless and struggling in the area and the First Steps Program which assists expecting moms and families.

Community Impact Director at Greater Mankato Area United Way says, "There goal is to provide grants to the community that help promote health and wellness and a strong community. We look forward to continuing to apply for grants that are going to help us with these initiatives."

Project Community Connect will take place at the Verizon Wireless Center on April 5th. The First Steps Program is a continually funded program that remains open to mothers and families in need.
