Baseball returns to the Tink Larson field this Friday, just over a month after a fire destroyed the iconic grandstand.

Members of the Minnesota Twins grounds crew were busy installing sod behind home plate and around the grandstand area Monday.

The temporary backstop is also up as the final touches are being put on the field ahead of Friday.

"I thought there is no way we're going to play a game on it this year, David St. Peter came down from the Minnesota Twins, and they kind of urged us to have a starting date, so we could have something to shoot for, so if it wasn't for the Twins organization kind of pushing us to get something going, it did happen very fast," said John Clemons, Waseca mayor.

The Blue Jays will take on the Tri–City United Titans in that contest.
