MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected of chasing a woman with a gun and knife suffered multiple injuries when he jumped from a third-story apartment window to elude police in Moorhead. Officers talked to the woman about 10 p.m. Wednesday and found her unharmed. She directed officers to the apartment building where the man had possibly returned. When police made contact with him, the suspect jumped to the ground 25 feet below and ran from the scene.
COON RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) - Anoka County sheriff's officials say a man has been fatally shot by law enforcement following a traffic stop in Coon Rapids. Authorities say a Coon Rapids officer was conducting a traffic stop about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, when the man fled on foot and fired shots at the officer. Multiple agencies responded, including sheriff's deputies, and found the man nearby. The sheriff's office says he posed a threat to law enforcement and was shot.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Police are investigating after a 7-year-old boy brought a loaded handgun to school in St. Paul. Someone at Highland Park Elementary became aware of the gun Wednesday morning and called police. A school resource officer retrieved the gun from the student's backpack.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Kamala Harris and Cory Booker have each missed more than one-fifth of the Senate's votes so far this year as they campaign for president, according to an Associated Press analysis of congressional data. With 16 missed votes of the 77 votes that the Republican-controlled Senate have held in 2019, Harris and Booker far outpace the number missed by their four fellow senators also vying for the Democratic presidential nomination.
