Sleepy Eye Public School went into lockdown Tuesday afternoon while a potential threat was investigated.

The school's superintendent John Cselovszki says the school received a phone call from the Tactical Institute in Washington DC of a potential threat made against the school on Twitter, further identifying that Twitter feed came from Sleepy Eye Public School.

The school was immediately placed on lockdown and police were called.

School administrators with help of the Tactical Institute were able to track down the owner of the Twitter feed and identify students involved.

The superintendent says when those students were interviewed it was determined there was no imminent danger and the lockdown was lifted.

Classes did resume Tuesday afternoon.

As for discipline, school leaders say they will take action according to school district policy.
