The Greater Mankato Area United Way is getting closer to the end of their 2018 campaign.

So far they are at 97 percent of their more than $2 million dollar goal, with about $67,000 dollars left to go.

The campaign started in August and will go through the rest of the month.

The United Way said any size of donation can make a difference for the organization.

"So if we all come together, and we all give some kind of donation by, January let's say, we'll surpass that and be able to help the 50 some thousand people that need our help," CEO Barb Kaus said.

The 2019 campaign kicks off in August at the Women with Heart Luncheon.
