It's National Signing Day and a few athletes from Mankato East inked their letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the next level.

"I'm super stoked, really happy that I was able to get the letter, just excited for what the future holds," said Bailey Fleming, Mankato East senior offensive lineman.

The Cougars' Bailey Fleming, Hanna Helms, and Jenny Vetter all signed their letters of intent Wednesday.

Fleming is heading to Dakota State for football next year while Helms is continuing her lacrosse career at UW River Falls.

"Super excited, it's a great opportunity. I didn't know that I'd play sports in college, but the head coach contacted me, and I thought it'd be a great opportunity to continue my lacrosse career," said Helms, Mankato East senior attacker.

Vetter is staying close to home joining the NSIC champion MSU Maverick's soccer team.

"I think it'll help a lot that we played an attack style at East, I also have experience with Ben Jones as the assistant coach, he's been my summer coach for Mankato United that past couple of years, so getting used to that style of play there and at Mankato East will help prepare me," said Vetter, Mankato East senior forward.

Congratulations to all three of these student athletes!
