The last time the Sleepy Eye baseball team made it to state was back in 2000; which means most of this year's squad wasn't even born yet.
That year, the Indians won the state title.
On Thursday, Sleepy Eye senior, Avery Stevens pitched a no-hitter against Parkers Prairie in the Class A state quarterfinals.
On Friday, junior Jacob Berg followed up that performance with 14-strikeouts helping the Indians to their 4-1 win over South Ridge.
For those keeping track at home, at the state tournament so far, the Sleepy Eye pitchers combined for 29 strikeouts.
Sleepy Eye advances to the program's 4th state championship appearance, its first in 18-years.
The Indians play Heritage Christian Academy Saturday at 10AM at Target Field.
