SAINT PETER, MN- The Saint Peter Farmers Market opened up for the first time this season.

For the third year in a row, vendors lined up in the parking lot in front of the Saint Peter Food Co–op.

Throughout the morning, there were plenty of shoppers in the market for fresh produce and goods to take home, supporting local farmers who all live within 40 miles of Saint Peter.

A maximum of 16 vendors will be available for the public to eye, depending on the day or week, allowing for an abundance of items to purchase.

Co-coordinator Crystal Bock says "We have fresh and local produce, vegetables and fruits. There's lot of different canned goods, pickles, salsa, jams and honey. We also have eggs, baked goods, crafts, just a wide variety."

The market will take place every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and Tuesday between 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., until the end of October, all dependent on the weather.

The market will be closed Tuesday, July 3.
