Alumacraft Sold To Canadian Company
SAINT PETER, MN- Alumacraft announced Thursday that its company has been sold to BRP out of Quebec, Canada.
Alumacraft is known as one of the first companies to build aluminum boats for fishing and recreation.
Based out of Saint Peter, it employs more than 250 people and networks with over 275 dealers around the globe.
BRP manufacturers powersports vehicles and propulsion systems, generating $4.5 billion annually from more than 100 countries.
The acquisition of Alumacraft is a part of the creation of its new Marine Group.
BRP president and CEO José Boisjoli says “This acquisition is a natural first step for our newly formed Marine Group. In the short term, we plan to focus on network optimization to leverage the strengths of both product lines and gradually reinforce our presence in the industry. Along with our recognized approach to innovation and design expertise, we hope to eventually transform this industry and do for the marine business what we have done for the powersports business.”
