Authorities in Blue Earth County are searching for a man they say fled on foot following an alleged robbery and pursuit around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The Sheriff's Office says a man entered the Le Hillier Quick Mart in South Bend Township, brandishing a blunt object and ran from the scene after obtaining cash. Deputies located a black Cadillac driving erratically in the area consistent with efforts to elude responding deputies. As the Cadillac turned south onto Highway 83 from County Road 90, deputies were able to force the vehicle into the ditch.

The driver fled on foot and the passenger, 26-year-old Mitch Kenneth Rexford of North Aurora, Illinois, was taken into custody. He is being held in the Blue Earth County Jail on charges of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery.

The additional suspect is a male believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30 with a shaved head. Police say the suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the robbery and deputies were unable to tell anything additional regarding appearance due to the lighting conditions during the chase.

A suspicious person was seen in the area of Kodiak Lane south of County Road 90 in the hours following the incident and investigators are following up on this and additional leads.
