New technology will be available at some polling locations this primary election.

Electronic rosters will greet voters in Eagle Lake, Mankato and Lake Crystal on August 14th. The Poll Pads aim to make the process smoother by helping voters check in on Election Day if they're pre-registered and allow election judges to register new voters if they haven't registered in their polling place already.
"This process isn't going to change anything for voters the same rules apply in terms of being eligible to vote and being a resident in the precinct. What it's just going to do is it's going to help make sure that we're collecting that right information so it gives our voter a little extra comfort that they know that they are following the laws because the device won't let them not follow the laws," Blue Earth County Director of Taxpayer Services Michael Stalberger said.
A public open house will take place this Saturday, August 11 beginning at 10 a.m. in the historic courthouse in downtown Mankato for anyone interested in testing out the Poll Pads prior to Election Day.
