Schmidt's Meat Market receives national honors for its original jerky at the American Cured Meat Championships.
 
 The Nicollet business earned a perfect score of 1,000, receiving the title of National Grand Champion in the Whole Muscle Jerky category.
The competition is held in mid-July in Kansas City, Missouri.
The event is held in conjunction with the American Association of Meat Processors convention.
