Minnesotans will elect a new governor this year.

And on August 14, voters will head to the polls for the primary to narrow down their choices.

KEYC News 12's Ashley Hanley introduces us to one of those candidates, the GOP–endorsed Jeff Johnson.

Johnson is the former Hennepin County Commissioner.

You may also recall, Johnson ran for Governor back in 2014 before losing to Governor Mark Dayton.

He sat down with us to share his vision for the state.

Jeff Johnson says, "I'm running because quite frankly I see and arrogance in state government right night, not all, but in several state agencies, like the DNR and I want them to know that they serve the people.

Johnson is up against former Governor Tim Pawlenty for the Republican nomination.
