New Poll Has Hagedorn Ahead Of Feehan
A recent poll of voters in the Minnesota 1st Congressional District is showing Republican Jim Hagedorn with a 14 point lead over his competitor, Dan Feehan of the DFL.
Of the 400 likely voters in the district, 47% said they would vote for Hagedorn. 33% said they were for Feehan. 14% were undecided.
The poll was conducted by Harper Polling for the Hagedorn campaign. The margin of error is +/- 4.9%.
Hagedorn thinks the results of the poll show that he is in tune with the district.
He said: "I think the positions I take on the major issues, whether it's securing the borders, making sure we have a strong America, reforming the government to keep the economy moving forward and growing strong, protecting our god given rights like the right to life and the right to keep and bear arms. I think that those messages reflect the views and values of southern Minnesota."
In response to the poll, the Feehan campaign released a statement saying:
"Our own internal polling shows very different results. But the real measure is the energy on the ground... We have found that when voters hear about Dan's career of service in Iraq and in the classroom, contrasted with Hagedorn's decades-long career as a Washington DC bureaucrat, they strongly prefer Dan."
The 1st Congressional District is up for grabs, the seat is being vacated by Tim Walz, who is campaigning for governor.
