A daycare in Franklin is being honored for its efforts to combat a child care shortage in the community.
Cougar Cub Child Care is being granted the Circle of Excellence Award by the Department of Human Services.
The awards recognize the efforts organizations are doing to help people achieve their highest potential.
Franklin Industries Incorporated was a grassroots organization formed to address the need for affordable child care in the Franklin community. Through a partnership with Cedar Mountain Schools, Cougar Cub Child Care opened in December of 2016.
The early learning center is for ages 6 weeks to school-age and aims to provide children with social, physical and cognitive opportunities.
Minnesota Department of Human Services Commissioner Emily Piper will present the award and tour the facility tomorrow at 11 a.m.
