Strong Winds Take Toll On Ice Houses
That wind that you can probably hear from inside your house? It's wreaking some havoc on area lakes.
So much so, that area law enforcement are urging fishermen to secure their ice houses and watch for open water.
The Waseca County Sheriff's Office shared these images during yesterday's blustery conditions. Wind gusts in Waseca reached 53 miles per hour yesterday.
Authorities say they had to catch and hook down an ice house that slid across Clear Lake in Waseca.
The Sheriff's Office is also reporting a number of ice houses with open water underneath with some even dropping into the lake.
Wind gusts are expected to die down by the end of the day today.
