MANKATO -- Three people are hospitalized after a five-vehicle crash Friday on Highway 14 in Mankato.
A Cadillac was driving westbound on 14 yesterday evening around 5:30 p.m. and rear ended a Chevrolet near the bridge that passes over Riverfront Dr.

Two other vehicles stopped at the crash that happened in front of them until a fifth vehicle heading westbound crashed into one of them, causing a chain reaction of five cars.

Mankato Fire and Gold Cross as well as the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene.

At one point, westbound traffic was backed up from the sight of the accident to the River Hills Mall ... as authorities cleaned up the scene and removed on vehicle from the median.

The three passengers of the Cadillac in front were sent to MCHS Mankato with what are believed to be non-life threatening injured.

No passengers in any of the other vehicles were injured. According to the state patrol, every passenger involved was wearing their seat belt and alcohol does not appear to have been involved.
