2 Snowmobilers, 2 Firefighters Injured in Ice Rescue
MINNESOTA LAKE, Minn. -- Two firefighters were injured while rescuing two people who fell through the ice Saturday on Minnesota Lake in Faribault County.
Minnesota Lake Police Department received a report around 2:30 Saturday afternoon of snowmobilers that went through the ice.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they learned it was Christopher John Koch, 31, and Kaleb Jay Hyronimus, 27, both of Minnesota Lake.
During the rescue, two Minnesota Lake Fire Department members went through the ice as well. They were both treated and released by Wells Ambulance.
Both snowmobilers were successfully removed from the ice. Koch was airlifted to HCMC and Hyronimus was transported to Mankato Medical Center.
The extend of their injuries are unknown at this time.
