(MANKATO, Minn) - Mankato's Economic Development Authority is approving a loan for a local childcare facility set to open this year.
Cultivate Mankato will receive another $75,000 for HVAC improvements related to fire suppression requirements and other infrastructure upgrades.

In August 2018, the city approved a $125,000 loan to renovate the Ridgley building to be used as Cultivate Mankato's childcare center.

The daycare's owner says the extra construction won't make a big impact the potential opening date later this Spring.
"We're just really excited to open, we can't wait for the snow to go away and for the ground to thaw so we can keep moving on the outside progress," said Cultivate Mankato Owner Candice Deal-Bartlett. "We're just really excited."
The childcare facility will hold up to 149 children and Cultivate Mankato says 105 of those spots are already filled.
