A signing day of sorts today at Mankato West High School recognizing band, orchestra and choir students.

Fellow peers, teachers and administrators gathered to celebrate those in music planning to use their talents at college.

In total, 20 students were recognized for their accomplishment.

Sort of like sports does a Signing Day, this day was just like that, but for music!

“Band has taught me so many life skills throughout my life. It’s taught me determination, perseverance, a lot of self-accountability and motivation for myself," said Gustavus Adolphus commit Keely Schuck. "It’s taught me how to be a leader. This year I was the pep band conductor and president for our band.”

Schuck went on to add that her favorite part of band was the people she met and got to spend time with.
